Dakota AgSynergy didn’t start in a high-rise. It started in two family farm offices just a few miles apart—the Sehn’s near Linton, ND (founded 1926) and the Purintun’s near Hazelton, ND (founded 1906). Born from five generations of farming sunflowers, edible beans, barley, wheat, corn and soybeans, we knew that something was broken in the way crops—especially pulses and specialty grains—moved from farm to buyer.

A decade ago in 2015, the idea began of Dakota AgSynergy to close that gap. Originally built to market a few loads of sunflowers and yellow peas, we quickly realized that solving real grain marketing meant more than a local bid. It meant building a smarter system—one that serves both the producer and the buyer with equal intensity.

So we ditched the elevator model, scaled our buying network, hired experts who think like farmers and execute like traders, and started building one of the most agile, direct, and responsive grain marketing firms in the region.

Today, we trade over 15 specialty and pulse crops across 27 states, Mexico, and Canada. Our reach continues to grow, and our ability to deliver is powered by the fact that we’re not just in the industry—we’re from it.
